As you probably know, the annual Midi Festival is no longer the
only outdoor music festival set to rock Beijing.
The first Modern Sky Festival, organized by the renowned Chinese
indie label Modern Sky, will feature a slew of anticipated Chinese
and international acts, and be headlined by the American rock band
Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
The line-up announced by Modern Sky on Monday reveals that 120
or so bands and musicians are to present a three-day rock banquet
beginning on October 2 at Haidian Park.
Such active local bands as Re-TROS, Joyside, PK14, Car-sick
Cars, and Snapline are among the performers.
Compared to the Beijing Pop Festival to be held this weekend,
which features Nine Inch Nails, the Modern Sky Festival offers much
cheaper entry, at 60 yuan (US$7.9) a day, or a three-day pass for
120 yuan.
New York-based rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs,
seen here, are set to headline the first Modern Sky Festival to be
held in October at Beijing's Haidian Park.
