Usain Bolt returned to China for the first time since his triple-gold Olympic feat, winning the 200m title in a meet record of 19.76 seconds in the IAAF Shanghai Diamond League.
Bolt clocked 19.76 seconds, a far cry from his world record of 19.19 seconds clocked in last year's Berlin world championships.
American duo Angelo Taylor and Ryan Bailey finished second and third with 20.34 and 20.43 seconds respectively.
"It was good, it was kind of windy. It was a good run, the feeling was good but it was not easy. I am not in the best of shape but I enjoyed it and I looked forward to the next race," said Bolt.
Bolt, who became the first man to hold the 100 and 200m world and Olympic titles at the same time, came to the Shanghai IAAF Diamond League meet after running 9.86 seconds to win his season-opening 100m at South Korea's Daegu Pre-Championships Meeting last week.
"I really wanted a good time," said Bolt. "I am not going to China very often. Coming out of the curve, I was smiling and I thought 'Oh, My god!' I was surprised to see a lot of Jamaicans. It was good. I love them. Wherever I go, it would not be the same without them."
Bolt is holding the men's 100m and 200m world records of 9.58 and 19.19 seconds.
