The draft of an anti-money laundering law will be reviewed for
the first time by the 21st Session of the Standing Committee of the
10th National People's Congress (NPC) of China on April 25.
The Budgetary Work Committee of the NPC Standing Committee said
on Monday that with economic globalization and frequent
transnational capital flow money laundering was happening in both
developed and developing countries.
The international community recognized that fighting back
against money laundering crimes relied heavily on international
cooperation based on both domestic and international legislation,
the Committee observed.?
The coming session of the 10th NPC Standing Committee will
continue to deliberate drafts of the Law on the Quality and Safety
of Agricultural Products, Passport Laws and an amendment to
Compulsory Education Law.
The draft amendment to Partnership Law will be submitted to the
coming session for first deliberation.
The legislative session will also deliberate on a motion
relating to acceding to the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent
Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste
Management.
Other motions include the ratification of the extradition treaty
between China and Brazil, the Treaty on Criminal Judicial
Assistance between China and Spain, the Extradition Treaty between
China and Spain and a motion on ratifying the Treaty on Criminal
Judicial Assistance between China and France.
