"Lust, Caution" actress Tang Wei is slated for a return to Chinese mainland cinemas on April 2 with the new urban romance film "Crossing Hennessy".
Tang, who achieved instant stardom with a highly contentious performance in Ang Lee's Golden Lion-winning film in 2007, has since been absent from mainland silver screens.
In "Crossing Hennessy", Tang acts against Hong Kong veteran singer-actor Jacky Cheung. Together they present an unlikely relationship that starts from a blind date.
The story of "Crossing Hennessy" takes place around Hong Kong's Hennessy Road, where the protagonists live.
The film is the second feature of celebrated screenwriter-turned-director Ivy Ho, following her award-winning 2008 film, "Claustrophobia".
Other cast members of "Crossing Hennessy" include Paw Hee-Ching ("The Way We Are") and Danny Lee ("Red River").
"Crossing Hennessy", together with another film called "Like a Dream", will open this year's Hong Kong International Film Festival on March 21. Its Hong Kong release is set for April 1.
