"A journey to Afghanistan" is the first Chinese documentary that provides new insight into the war in Afghanistan which had lasted for eight years.
The two episodes of the 50-minute documentary series will be aired on Documentary Channel at 8pm today and tomorrow.
The series is shot by young female director Xiong Liang and freelance documentary photographer Liang Zi, who had more than one-week stay with the NATO troops and ordinary Afghan residents.
Dubbed as a Chinese version of the latest Oscar-winning film "The Hurt Locker," the series emotionally depicts the cruelty of war, conveying everyone's aspiration to end the war as early as possible.
Additionally, it records the real lives of ordinary Afghan people. Through several heartwarming stories, audience can see how the war has influenced their family lives and concepts.
According to Li Xiao, a producer of the series, it is another attempt of them to take lens at big world events after a film to depict Somali pirates.
