The fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean", provisionally titled "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", will be shot in Disney Digital 3-D, Variety.com reports.
The 4th installment will be helmed by "Memoirs of a Geisha" director Rob Marshall. This comes after initial plans to shoot a 2-D film and then convert it to 3-D during post-production were scrapped. However, the decision has led to the project becoming even more expensive.
The new movie will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, with actor Johnny Depp back onboard as Captain Jack Sparrow.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" is expected to hit cinemas on May 20 next year.
