Chou told reporters that he wanted to make this album different from his previous ones, so he tried two new genres, electronic rock and blues.
Chou revealed that he incorporated Peking Opera singing into one of his songs, calling it his proudest innovation.
When asked about his biggest change over the past ten years, Chou said his outer style has changed a lot. However, he has resisted changing his music and has stuck with his long-time music partner, Vincent Fang, who writes his lyrics.
Chou emphasized that the most important achievement in his life was shooting a Hollywood film. He pointed out that it was his achievements in music that made him well-known and earned him the opportunity to work overseas. And he revealed that he dreams of performing at the Grammy Awards. But he refuses to sing in English because he wants to see if he could make headway into the American market with his Chinese songs.
Chou is starring in the upcoming American film "The Green Hornet", directed by Michel Gondry.
