The "Yunnan Dianchi Pan-Asia Art Festival" opened Sunday in Kunming, capital city of southwest China's Yunnan Province, with the goal of strengthening cultural understanding between China and other Asian countries and boosting economic cooperation.

The one-week arts festival consists of an exhibition on Yunnan's intangible cultural heritage, an art performance by Asian countries and a forum on transportation and infrastructure cooperation.

Experts and participants from India, Indonesia and Bangladesh called for further cooperation with Yunnan Province in roads, railways, waterways, airlines, pipelines and electric power systems.
