A series of incidents recently tarnished the image of China's charity sector and generated a wave of public concern. Given this background, it seems to be a good time to release a movie that aims to highlight traditional Chinese virtues and encourage people to mend their ways.
Co-produced by the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Newspaper Office and the Art Institute of Jinzhou City, and starring renowned actors Wang Weizhi and Li Xiaohong, the charity movie named Sunlight (Sheng Si Chun Hui) recently wrapped up production in Shenyang, according to a report from tom.com.
Based on a real story, the film "Sunlight" tells the tale of an entrepreneur with commercial instincts and philanthropic tendencies, who brings changes to the lives of a poorer family. It also shows the spiritual journey of the child from that family, who is moved and inspired by him.
As a popular domestic actor with strength and charisma, Wang Zhiwei, who is adept at creating positive character images, has portrayed multiple great leaders in revolutionary history movies.
"I hope this movie can encourage entrepreneurs to give back to society and make a difference, awakening their sense of moral obligation and sense of social responsibility." Wang revealed when the film was wrapped up.
The release date of the film has yet to be confirmed.
