The news that Chinese director Zhang Yimou has seven children from four women is causing quite a stir recently.

The director reportedly had two sons and a daughter with actress Chen Ting before they married in 2011.

This is the second marriage for Zhang who also has a daughter with his first wife.

Further rumors indicate Zhang may have three additional children from two other women.

Experts predict that based on his income Zhang and Chen could be fined 160 million yuan (US$26 million) for breaking the one-child policy.

Though circumstances exist in which a couple may have more than one child, Zhang and Chen apparently do not meet the criteria.

The couple has been keeping silent although online forums are raging at the moment with frustrated people angry over the privilege of the rich.

Many are demanding the rich and powerful need to follow the same rules and laws as everyone else.
