Professor Andrew Wheatcroft, a visiting professor to City University of London, historian, and former director for Stirling Centre for International Publishing Scotland -- has praised the book "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" for the message it presents to the world, and predicts the book will be read on university courses and in senior schools everywhere, "because China's development now affects every nation."

"Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" is a collection of speeches, talks, and interviews given by Chinese President Xi. The book, published by Foreign Languages Press of the China International Publishing Group (CIPG), helps the international community better understand the developments, dreams and aspirations of the Chinese people.

Prof. Wheatcroft applauded the publisher's English translation for the way it captured the "flavor and meaning" of the original text. Wheatcroft has good words for how the translation has given the author "a strong and individual voice." The book is easy to understand thanks to the succinctness of the sentences, and for the coherent message it presents, meaning that the readability of the book could lead to an even wider readership and understanding of the current state and goals of China.

"Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" is not a book solely for academics and politicians. The topics covered in the book are not abstract, and are easily understandable to the common reader as well as political theorists.

Wheatcroft further praised the book for its "hidden subtexts" -- the themes that unite the chapters, and that have marked Xi's time as president of China; namely, the ideas about the Chinese dream, and of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Wheatcroft sums up the China's present and future with these lines taken from "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China"-- "Hard work is the fundamental force driving the progress of human society. Happiness does not fall from the sky, nor do dreams come true automatically." The inspirational words from the leader of the most populated and fastest growing economy in the world made Wheatcroft ask the question: "Is this not a message for the whole world?"

Sales of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" have already exceeded 4 million, with 400,000 being sold outside of China.

The book is currently available in English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese.
