The film stars Deng Chao, Deng Jiajia, Zheng Yunlong and Yu Entai in a story about a white-collar worker who faces sudden termination after a decade at an internet startup, losing 8 million yuan ($1.1 million) in stock options. In a desperate move to recover his losses, he concocts an elaborate scheme involving a fictitious AI breakthrough, giving himself 100 days to reclaim his money. Rallying a ragtag team, they mount a spirited counterattack against their boss, turning their struggle into a chilling workplace rebellion.
"When we look back, we often realize the truly precious things were already in our possession. Finding what you truly want to hold onto is the winning ticket," Director Liu said of the film's theme at the premiere in Beijing on Nov. 13.
Viewers reacted positively after the screening, with many spontaneously sharing personal stories of workplace challenges.
Veteran actor Deng Chao responded: "I have also experienced confusion and loneliness during my personal growth. The film aims to present that moment when we recognize our own vitality, and how everyone should hold the winning ticket to their own life."
Co-star Yu added, "What we lose and what we gain are both thin lines of opportunity. This film is for healing, and it makes us believe that in this world, there is communication, and there is always hope."
