Chinese equities closed slightly higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 11.55 points, or 0.36 percent, to close at 3,175.59.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 49.10 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 13,036.30.
Combined turnover shrank slightly to 255.50 billion yuan (US$37.57 billion) from 297.53 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Of the ChiNext market for start-up stocks, six out of total 28 were up.
