Chinese equities edged up Wednesday, as low-carbon stocks rallied on expectations that the government will make developing low carbon economy a priority this year.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.78 percent, or 23.9 points, to end at 3,097 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.51 percent, or 63.78 points, to close at 12,612.69 points.
Combined turnover Tuesday was 239.4 billion yuan (35.04 billion U.S. dollars), up from 222.07 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
