Chinese equities fell on Thursday, led by banking shares and property developers over concern about tightening measures.
The Shanghai Composite Index inched down 0.82 percent, or21.29 points, to close at 2,562.58 points. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 124.05 points, or 1.2 percent, to end at 10,222.22.
Total turnover reached 167.53 billion yuan (24.53 billion U.S. dollars), down from 196.07 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Losers outnumbered gainers by 533 to 322 in Shanghai but gainers outnumbered losers by 524 to 409 in Shenzhen.
