China's 129 centrally-managed state-owned enterprises (SOEs) paid 1.14748 trillion yuan (168.75 billion U.S. dollars) in taxes last year, up 10.1 percent year on year, the State Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) said Friday.
The added-value tax the SOEs paid hit 378.23 billion yuan (55.62 billion U.S. dollars), one third of the SOEs' total tax submissions, the SASAC said.
Some 23 SOEs paid tax of over 10 billion yuan in 2009, up from eight in 2003 when the SASAC was founded.
