Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), the computer chip maker, announced Wednesday that David Tang will join the company as senior vice president and president of AMD Greater China. The announcement comes soon after Tang resigned as vice chairman of Nokia China.
Tang's stint begins Feb. 1, 2011, where he will replace Karen Guo, who departs AMD at the end of this year.
Tang takes responsibility for executing a single, integrated corporate strategy for all of AMD's business in the Greater China region.
Prior to joining AMD, Tang worked for Nokia China for seven years and led its sales department for five.
