China's telecom industry reported 819.03 billion yuan (122.98 billion U.S. dollars) in main business revenue for the first 11 months, up 6.6 percent year on year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced Tuesday.
The MIIT released subscriber data that showed the number of mobile phone service users continued to rise as the number of fixed-line subscribers was falling.
Mobile telecommunication revenues accounted for 69.82 percent of the total, 3.12 percentage points more than the previous year, while the fixed-line business took 30.18 percent, down 3.12 percentage points.
The number of fixed-line subscribers fell by 15.39 million to 298.34 million by the end of November, while mobile phone users were up by more than 94.83 million to 842.04 million.
