Hong Kong-based polysilicon and wafer producer GCL-Poly Energy inked a deal on Wednesday with Canadian Solar to supply 5.2GW (5,200 megawatts) of wafer and polysilicon products over five years.
The price of the deal wasn't revealed but set on a flexible pricing mechanism in accordance with the market.
With the deal, GCL-Poly has booked orders of approximately 3GW for each year over the next five years, as it has agreed to supply approximately 7.5GW of wafer and polysilicon products to Trina Solar and 2.5GW to Linyang New Energy over the next five years.
GCL-Poly Energy is the largest polysilicon producer in China with an annual output of 21,000 tons.
