Apple opened its first retail store in Hong Kong on Saturday, and thousands of fans lined up for chances to get one of the limited edition T-shirt.
Some of the devotees camped outside the store since Thursday to secure a place in the free handout to 5,000 people.
Staff cheered and clapped hands as fans finally stepped inside the two-story store after anxious counting down seconds to the open time. Meanwhile, they gave out little white paper boxes, each of which contained a red T-shirt with both Chinese and English characters of Hong Kong printed in the front.
Located in the city center's IFC mall, one of the premier shopping places here, the store features a glass spiral staircase right in the middle and a large fall-to-ground glass wall stamped with an oversized Apple logo.
Apple said Store IFC offers one of the world's largest areas for Personal Setup, free service that helps customers get up and running with their new devices before they leave the store.
It is one of two Apple retail stores opening in China this week. The Apple Store Nanjing East, located on Shanghai's well-known pedestrian shopping street, opened on Friday.
