Chinese shares opened 0.73 percent higher on Wednesday in reaction to a Wall Street rally overnight.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, rose 0.73 percent to 1,903.43 at the opening. The smaller Shenzhen index was up 0.56 percent, to open at 6,833.86 points.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson will lead a high-level delegation to Beijing on Thursday to discuss a range of economic issues, including the ongoing financial crisis that has dragged the US?economy into recession and lowered China's economic growth as well.
