The Chinese mainland's chief negotiator for the mainland-Taiwan relations said?in Taipei?that agreements which are expected to be signed Tuesday afternoon would realize what the late Taiwan tycoon Wang Yung-ching hoped for the three direct links of post, trade and transport services.
Chen Yunlin, president of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS), said during his meeting with Chiang Pin-kung, chairman of the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), "Mr. Wang would have been relieved if he had seen this."
Wang, the billionaire who was born and grew up in Taiwan, died on Oct. 15 at the age of 91 in New Jersey, the United States.
