A 69-year-old woman who tested positive for the A/H1N1 influenza died Saturday in Hong Kong, bringing the death toll of the disease in the city to 27, Hong Kong's Hospital Authority announced Sunday.
The woman has a history of lung cancer, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and acute coronary disease. She was sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital where she was prescribed antibiotics on Oct. 2 after developing fever and upper respiratory symptoms.
Her condition deteriorated quickly and died later Saturday, the same day she was found having contracted the A/H1N1 flu.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Center for Health Protection.
