A man killed six people and injured nine others Wednesday in south China's Guangdong Province, local authorities said.
Huang Yangfang, 46, wielding a blade and a hoe, hacked two people to death on site in Changshan village of Nantang township of Lufeng City at around 8 a.m., a spokesman with the city's publicity department said.
Thirteen others were injured and sent to a local hospital, where four of them died, he added.
Police seized Huang at the scene. Initial investigation showed that Huang was provoked by some family issue and was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the killing spree, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said further investigation is underway.
