One student has been confirmed dead and two others missing after filming for a TV series went horrifically wrong, China Youth Daily reported.
100 students from a local school were asked to appear as extras in a shoot for a program nearby the sea, but ten were engulfed by a huge wave.
The ten students from a middle school in Wenchang, southern Hainan province were washed out with the tide. Seven survived but were injured after the incident on January 14.
After 48 hours searching, police said there was very slight chance that the missing two were still alive.
The headmaster of the school talked the students into playing extras in the TV series "Liberation of Hainan island" and were paid 2,500 yuan ($366) per day by the crew, according to reports.
