A 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit southern Tibet on Friday noon, according to the China Earthquake Administration (CEA).
The earthquake occurred at 12:42 p.m. (Beijing Time) at Tingri county in Tibet Autonomous Region. The epicenter was 28.4 degrees north latitude and 86.8 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 33 kilometers, said the CEA.
There was no instant report of casualties.
