Fifteen people severely wounded in a plane crash were airlifted late Wednesday from the crash site to the capital city of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province for treatment, officials said.
"They are seriously wounded and we can not be sure they are out of life dangers," said an official of the provincial health authorities upon the plane's arrival.
The plane arrived at Taiping International Airport of Harbin at 8:45 p.m. and the injured, including children, a deputy minister and a Taiwanese, are being transferred to four key hospitals in the city.
Traffic police authority had given priority to ambulance teams. Police cars were heading the ambulance teams on their way to the hospital.
Some severely injured are now receiving treatment in the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University. Medical staffs there have well prepared for their arrival.
"The municipality of Harbin will offer the best medical service and daily-supporting to the injured," said Gai Ruyin, Party Chief of Harbin.
Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao Wednesday called for all-out efforts to save the passengers injured in Tuesday's Yichun plane crash.
Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang, who is heading a work team to Yichun early Wednesday to guide the emergency work, said families of the victims should get good treatment.
A passenger jet carrying 96 people crashed at the airport of Yichun City in Heilongjiang amid heavy fog late Tuesday night. Forty-two people were killed while the remaining 54 were injured.
