Ten more officials in northern China's Shanxi Province have been punished for visiting bathhouses, karaoke bars and other places of entertainment during work hours.
Seven were found singing karaoke or taking a bath in clubs during work hours while three others were caught gambling in a hotel on Friday. The three gambling had been sacked, Shanxi's provincial discipline inspection commission said in a circular Monday.
The move came after the local authorities launched a crackdown campaign late last month, which punished 296 officials for visiting entertainment venues during work hours.
Many of them had been sacked or given administrative or disciplinary penalties.
The Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China had ordered its Party officials not to play cards, chess or computer games, or go to teahouses, bathhouses, or karaoke bars for leisure during work hours, or seek benefits from others by taking advantage of their posts. Those who disobeyed the order will be sacked, it said.
Zhang Xiuping, a discipline inspection official of Shanxi, said the crackdown would continue and those who broke the rules would not be tolerated.
