"I won't go home until they resolve my daughter's case," he said.
Qiu claims officials from local political and legal committees earlier offered him a compen-sation package of 60,000 yuan ($8,949) and suggested carrying out a quick cremation of the young girl's body. However, Qiu declined to take the compensation.
"I was afraid they wanted to destroy the evidence and protect the suspects because two of them are policemen," said Qiu.
Liao Wei, a lawyer, said that if the suspects are convicted of gang-rape or judged to have caused severe consequences through their actions, such as the death of the victim, they could be given life imprisonment or even the death penalty.
