Chinese and Thai police in collaboration have arrested, in Thailand, a murder suspect who had been at large for 11 years, according to a statement released by China's Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on Wednesday.
The suspect has since been returned to China, the statement said.
Lin Gang, from Hainan Province, who was suspected of murdering a man surnamed Fu following a quarrel in October 1999, fled to Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan and then escaped to Thailand, the statement said.
The MPS sent a team to Thailand after receiving tips about Lin's whereabouts. Lin confessed to the earlier murder following his arrest, according to the statement.
Lin's arrest is another demonstration of successful cooperation between Chinese and other countries' police forces, said an official with the MPS.
