Hong Kong's Director of Health P Y Lam and Chairman of Hong Kong Hospital Authority Anthony Wu have been appointed by the Ministry of Health of China as advisers on Mainland's health care reform, according to local government website on Thursday.
The appointment, on a voluntary basis, is for a term of three years. Lam and Wu are expected to share their experiences in public health administration in Hong Kong and provide suggestions and strategic advice to the health care reform on Mainland.
Both said they were honored to be appointed. Lam said he looked forward to helping add an international perspective to the Mainland's health care reform.
Wu said he would make every endeavor to play a part in the areas of public health management and hospital service operation.
