Two migrant workers who allegedly conspired to kill the family of their former boss due to an employment dispute have been charged with murder and robbery, prosecutors announced yesterday.
The former employer surnamed Jiang and his six-year-old daughter were killed, and his girlfriend was injured in the attack in June.
Feng Jun and Wu Hui are from Jiangsu Province - Feng was hired by Jiang to work in his construction company in 2007 and later brought Wu in as a salesman.
Wu resigned from his position two months later due to bad sales performances. Soon after, a company laptop was stolen - Feng was detained by police since he had the office key and was a suspect.
Jiang also saw Wu on a security tape and confronted him. Wu returned the laptop and Jiang withdrew the charges and Feng was released.
After Feng finished his two-year military service, Jiang asked him back to work in April and Feng agreed despite the previous problems. However Jiang fired Feng a month later to cut costs.
Feng enlisted Wu to get revenge and they went to Jiang's office in Jiading District on June 24 armed with knives.
Feng and Wu demanded 50,000 yuan (US$7,496) and in a struggle Jiang and his daughter were killed and his girlfriend injured.
A driver recalled two passengers whom he heard talking about having thrown clothes into the river. Following the information, police caught the pair the next day in Suzhou.
