A shopping mall in east Beijing caught fire Friday evening, with no casualties reported.
The blaze erupted at about 9 p.m., engulfing part of the Shing Kong Place, a shopping center close to the east fourth Ring road in Chaoyang District of Beijing, according to officers with the Beijing fire-fighting bureau.
Customers and staff had been evacuated and six engines extinguished the fire at about 10 p.m.
The shopping center was jointly funded by a Taiwan-based department store and a Beijing company.
