A cross-Straits economic cooperation committee is scheduled to hold its first meeting after the Spring Festival, China's Lunar New Year, which falls on February 3.
Issues related to a landmark economic pact signed between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan last year will be discussed at the meeting, a mainland Taiwan affairs spokeswoman said Wednesday.
Fan Liqing, spokeswoman for the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office, said at a regular press conference in Beijing, the economic committee, jointly established by the two sides on Jan. 6 to handle issues related to the cross-Straits Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), will proceed with the follow-up negotiations of the pact.
