A pick-up truck rear-ended a truck on an expressway in Nanning city, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Tuesday night, leaving three dead and five injured.
Local traffic police said the accident happened at around 11:00 p.m. when the pick-up, carrying seven adults and a four-month-old baby, rammed into the truck. Three people aboard the pick-up died on the spot and five others injured had been sent to local hospital.
The injured were confirmed to have non-life threatening injuries, said the police.
Nobody in the truck was injured.
The truck driver said he was suddenly stopped by an enforcement car of highway department, and the pick-up behind crashed into the truck.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
