Unanswered calls, busy lines and unregistered numbers are the most frequent problems faced by people trying to telephone the government, the China Youth Daily reports.
The newspaper carried out a poll in conjunction with China.org.cn and Sohu.com. Of the 3,840 people surveyed, 76% had dialed government departments, and 71.1% said getting through was difficult.
Asking for information, making a complaint, and reporting illegal activities are the most common reasons people cited for ringing the government.
