A bus catches fire on a highway joining Beijing and Zhuhai. |
Forty-one people were killed in a bus fire Friday morning in Xinyang City, central China's Henan Province, CCTV reported. The dead bodies were carbonized and could only be identified through DNA tests.
The fire on the bus with 35 sleeper berths started at 4 a.m. on July 22, 2011 on a section of the Beijing-Zhuhai Highway in Xinyang. It was put out at 6 a.m.. Six passengers including the bus driver were rescued.
Investigators have followed the bus driver to the hospital for further information.
