One body of the six trapped miners was retrieved after a coal mine flooded in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Aug. 19, local authorities said late Saturday.
The flooding occurred at about 4:30 p.m. at the Changfu Coal Mine in the Hainan District in the city of Wuhai, according to the local police.
As of 11 p.m. Saturday, the silt in the flooded tunnel had been almost cleared away after the rescue operation and desilting work continued for several days, said the rescue headquarters on the site.
The search for the other five trapped miners is still underway.
