The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, on Saturday appointed chairmen for following working commissions and special committees during its bimonthly session that commenced Monday.
-- Kan Ke, former deputy chief of Research Division of the General Office of the NPC Standing Committee, was appointed vice chairman of the NPC Legislative Affairs Commission.
-- Liao Xiaojun, former Vice Finance Minister, was appointed chairman of the NPC Budgetary Affairs Commission, replacing Gao Qiang. Huang Jianchu, former chief of division of economic law under the NPC Legislative Affairs Commission, was appointed vice chairman.
-- Huang Huahua, former governor of Guangdong Province, was appointed vice chairman of the NPC Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee.
-- Lu Hao, former Party chief of Gansu Province, was appointed vice chairman of the NPC Foreign Affairs Committee.
-- Wu Heng, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was appointed vice chairman of the NPC Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee.
