Following a vote by lawmakers Wednesday, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the country's top legislature, approved the decision to amend the Law on the Promotion of Clean Production.

The amended law expands on what the "appropriate packaging of products" means.

Moreover, there are repeated insertions of terms such as "resource conservation" and "efficiency" in the amended law, while the previous version usually mentioned only "reduction of pollution."
