Senior Chinese official He Guoqiang urged more efforts to crack down on corruption and build clean government at an anti-corruption forum on Monday.
He, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China, reiterated that China will severely handle corruption concerning land acquisition and demolition.
He called on discipline inspection organs at all levels to investigate cases of illegal forced demolition as well as cadres suspected of embezzling demolition compensation.
The official also stressed China will combat corruption in resource exploitation, education tuition fees and medical charges.
"China will crack down on producing and selling contaminated food and drugs, and deal with leaders of state-owned enterprises who misappropriate the rights and interests of the state, the collective and staff," He promised.
Under his vows, grass-root level cadres will be investigated if suspected of bribery, buying and selling positions and votes, tyrannizing the common people, living extravagantly, or embezzling public funds intended for farmers, disaster-relief and social insurance.
Law enforcers who deny justice by covering for criminals or mafia-like gangs will also receive punishment in accordance with laws, he said.
"China will reinforce education and supervision to deepen reform in order to eradicate corruption at the source," He added.
