The 3rd Forum on Young People's Education for Sustainable Development, organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People, was held in Beijing from Dec. 6-7.
More than 200 education experts from over 20 countries gathered for a two-day discussion on the future of youth education for sustainable development.

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasized that education, science and technology, and human resources are the foundational and strategic pillars for building a modern socialist country in all respects, shedding light on the strategic role of youth education.
In his opening remarks, Ren Haifeng, deputy director of the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People, stated that the forum aims to serve as a diverse platform for global educators within the field of sustainable education.
"By strengthening international cooperation and resource sharing, the forum seeks to promote the deep integration of global educational concepts, explore new educational paths for future development, and create a global 'education model project,'" Ren said.

The event also witnessed the launch of the Future Institute for Sustainable Education. The institute, based on the vision of building a community of shared future for mankind and promoting youth engagement in sustainable development, aims to create an innovative demonstration project.

Themed "Connection, Collaboration, Synergy: Cultivating Innovative Talent with a Global Perspective," the two-day forum also featured keynote speeches, thematic reports, roundtable discussions and workshops, as well as the inaugural performance by the Soong Ching Ling Peace Angel Art Troupe.
