Wen Huazhi. |
Wen herself passed out several times, but she continued to struggle to open her eyes for the sake of her tourists. Her leg felt cold when she touched it, no longer feeling like part of her body. But her words encouraged her passengers, who waited for rescue. When it finally came, Wen refused to be rescued first, despite her serious injuries and being closest to the door. She insisted the medics help her passengers instead.
"It is strange; where did such a fragile girl get the strength to yell out so loudly and refuse aid?" said another passenger. "I can't help admiring her courage and morality."
After a long wait of more than two hours, Wen was the last survivor to be rescued. Her first question, which she asked in a feeble voice, was, "How are my passengers?"
