Nepal opposed to activities to separate China

The Chairman of the Party, Prachanda says he has noted the distorted accounts and reports by the Western media related to the riots. He also says he is aware of attempts to conduct activities against China by taking advantage of Nepalese territory.

The party condemns the distorted reports on the riots of March 14th in the Tibet Autonomous Region. It also says it will never allow others to separate China by taking advantage of Nepalese territory.

Counting is underway after last Thursday's Constituent Assembly election in Nepal.

Preliminary results show the Communist Party of Nepal Maoist is leading the race by a large margin.

The Chairman of the Party, Prachanda, has pledged to promote cooperation with China if his party wins the election.

He also says he has noted the distorted accounts and reports by the Western media related to the riots in the Tibet Autonomous Region on March 14th. He also says he is aware of attempts to conduct activities against China by taking advantage of Nepalese territory.

Prachanda said, "The Nepalese government will never allow other powers to conduct activities against China by using Nepalese territory."

The chairman's position is also echoed by the leader of the CPN Unified Marxist-Leninist party.

Msdhav Kumar Nepal, general secretary of CPN-unified Marxist-Leninist, said, "We stand firmly on the One-China policy. Tibet is an inalienable part of China."

Tibetan separatists exiled in Nepal have attacked the Chinese embassy there several times -- both before and after Constituent Assembly elections in Nepal.

Reports say these attacks have been backed by the Da Lai clique.

That violence has threatened the social order in the country.

The Nepalese government has taken a series of measures to halt those activities, in accordance with law.

Distorted Western media reports have triggered the indignation of many people in China and Nepal. Especially over photographs mistakenly and groundlessly depicting Nepalese authorities dealing with Tibetan separatists in Nepal -- as Chinese police.
