BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Jia Qinglin on Friday attended the 10th China Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF) and urged building the fair into a top-level, influential event.

Jia visited the fair being held at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center in Beijing, and said that the fair fully demonstrated the new headway China has made in agriculture and rural areas.

He expressed hopes of building the fair into a high-level, influential event that will contribute to enriching domestic supplies of agricultural products, promoting agricultural development and raising farmers' incomes.

The CATF is a high-level trade fair organized annually by the Ministry of Agriculture to promote the trade of agricultural products.

The 10th CATF is scheduled to run from Thursday to Sunday. More than 2,000 domestic companies and 40 companies from other countries attended the fair. Enditem
