New buildings are seen in Dongfang Steam Turbine Works (Dongqi) in 2011 in southwest China's Sichuan Province. In May 2008, a devastating earthquake hit Sichuan, killing more than 69,000 people. Dongqi saw its fortunes nearly obliterated in the disaster, but it has turned the tragedy into an opportunity to refocus its efforts on clean energy. By 2010, new energy products accounted for more than 60 percent of the company's total. [Photo by Chen Xiangzhao]
