A fatal traffic accident on Sunday night in southwest China's Yunnan Province left ten dead and one other
injured, local traffic police said Monday morning.
The accident occurred at around 11:00?PM in the county of
Yingjiang, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, when an
overspeed tractor with ten passengers veered off a bridge and
overturned into a 17-meter-deep ditch.
Nine passengers were killed on the spot and the other one died
on the way to hospital. The driver was seriously injured and is
still in critical condition, the police said.
The identities of the dead remain unknown and investigation into
the cause of the accident is underway.
