Bus TV, entertaining or annoying?
Adjust font size:

The Beijing News carries a letter from a Beijing resident, complaining about the nuisance caused by television screens blaring ads and video clips at high volume on public buses.

The letter says the programs are replayed on a loop and include multiple advertisements. Once she asked the conductor to turn down the volume, but her request was denied. This scenario is common on buses in the city.

The paper suggests that bus televisions provide passengers with timely news and weather forecast programs instead of playing advertisements one after another. A remote control should also be provided so the conductor can adjust the sound of the TV.

The Beijing News says bus TVs should be used to serve the public, not to irritate commuters who are already stressed out.
