Reconstruction work in the quake-hit zone in Yushu Prefecture, in northwest China's Qinghai Province, should be finished within three years, China's Vice Premier Hui Liangyu said Thursday at a quake relief meeting held by the State Council.
The central government will provide most of the funds for reconstruction, with some coming from public donations, Hui said.
Preferential tax, finance and land purchase policies should be implemented to help with the reconstruction, Hui said.
The Qinghai provincial government will be responsible for the reconstruction work, which should be planned with a strict budget, Hui added.
Infrastructure like roads, power and water supply installations, as well as public facilities like schools and hospitals, will receive central government financial aid, Hui said.
The meeting also achieved agreement on Yushu's disaster assessment report, which is important for the reconstruction work.
