Chinese company Jiker Network Technology came third in the race for the coveted Qualcomm QPrize at high tech fair DEMO Spring 2011, held February 27 – March 1 in California's Silicon Valley.
Jiker, based in the Economic & Technological Development Zone of Linyi City in the coastal province of Shandong, specializes in wireless Internet technology.
Its third-place ranking is the highest ever achieved by a Chinese hi-tech company in the QPrize contest. It is also the first time a company from Shandong has won a world-class high-tech award.
More than 20,000 technologies have been reviewed and 1,500 companies launched at DEMO shows since they were launched 20 years ago. Adobe Acrobat and Sun Microsystems' Java are just two of the big name brands that got their start at DEMO.
